I am an NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a
psychotherapy practice in
Fair Lawn, NJ.
History
I graduated New York University's clinical track with a Masters in Social Work in 1986. Prior to that, I received my B.A. In Social Work from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1983. In between those degrees, from 1984 - 1985, I worked at Friendship House Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in Hackensack, NJ as a Rehabilitation Assistant counseling chronic psychiatric clients in a Partial Care Program. After completing my M.S.W., I worked at Goshen Outpatient Clinic in Goshen, NY, from 1986 - 1991 as a staff psychotherapist treating children, teens, adults, couples, groups and families and conducting evaluations. There I gained invaluable experience working with a wide range of populations and developed my play therapy speciality, treating physically and sexually abused children.
After moving from New York State to NJ in late 1991, I started working at Jewish Family Service in Hackensack, NJ, as a staff psychotherapist treating all populations. While at JFS, I worked off site two days weekly as a Consultant at The Solomon Schechter Day School in New Milford, counseling children and teens, providing consultation to the staff and conducting classroom programs on self-esteem and other relevant topics. I also served one day a week as a Consultant to the Washington Township Y for their Nursery School and their Senior Program. I left JFS in 1994 to start my own private practice and have been in private practice for the past 23 years.
